We continued our series on Ruth called “Unexpected” this weekend at Eastbrook with a look at Ruth, chapter 2. Today’s message was entitled “God in Unexpected Answers.” The main point of my message is that God provides unexpected answers to the challenging circumstances of our lives as He works out His purposes in the world.
I did something which is a bit out of the ordinary for me, taking a more expository walk through the text of chapter two and then following it with some summary statements on Ruth, Boaz, Naomi, and God.
We began a new series this weekend at Eastbrook entitled “Unexpected: The Story of Ruth.” I am so excited to get into this series since the book of Ruth is one of the most beautiful and powerful pieces of Scripture in my opinion.
Today, I began the series with a message, “God in Unexpected Circumstances,” from Ruth 1:1-22. The main point of my message is that God is working out His purposes in our lives and world, even in the midst of unexpected circumstances.
I look at the three stories in Ruth 1: the story of Elimelek, the story of Naomi, and the story of Ruth.
