I want to know You, Lord my God.
In the majesty of Your power,
the splendor of Your holiness,
and the wonder of Your love—
I want to know You.
I want to see You, Lord my God.
Though no eye can truly see You and live,
though creation displays Your fingerprints for all to see,
show me the mystery of Your glory—
I want to see You.
I want to hear You, Lord my God.
In Your powerful voice that can shatter the cedars,
in Your still, small voice amidst the quiet wind,
and all the range of perception in-between—
I want to hear You.
I want to taste You, Lord my God.
As the Bread of Heaven come to give life,
I open my soul’s mouth wide to be fed on You,
and join the psalmist in tasting Your goodness—
I want to taste You, Lord my God.
So draw me deeper than I have ever been.
Infuse my ordinary life with Your extraordinary Presence,
that tasting, hearing, and seeing,
I might grow
to know You more.
