Brian McLaren on Himself and Emergent, take three

Again, here is the final installment of Brian McLaren’s assessment of himself and folks’ reactions to his work.

If you find yourself unfamiliar with his writings as he mentions them, please at least give some thoughtful attention to his paragraphs on his most recent book A Generous Orthodoxy. I resonate deeply with his questioning of the traditional religious stances and the political stances taken by those holding traditional religious stances.

It is worth reading McLaren, if only to be unsettled by him enough to think afresh about Jesus, Christianity, and the way we live as followers of Jesus.
