From time to time, I write music. Here is an excerpt from a song I wrote during college. The lines limp along without the accompanying music, but I decided I’d go ahead and leave the words up here for your own reflection.
On this New Year’s day,
I don’t know what to say or pray
I don’t think I’ll figure it out today
On the verge of another year,
I feel the rising hopes and fears
Who knows?
Time impartially works out it’s turning
It fades and stretches bodies
And it tries to stretch the soul as well
Life is always changing
Time is not kept waiting
Look and see that all you hold is dust
On this New Year’s day,
