There is no denying that the house church movement in China is not only one of the fastest growing and furthest reaching movements in the church today, but also a shining example of growth and vitality in the face of persecution.
In recent times, an increasing amount of attention has been given to the Chinese church. For example:
- Alan Hirsch‘s recent book, The Forgotten Ways, is a fascinating examination of the Chinese church and lessons it has for regaining a sense of mission within the Western church.
- David Aikman’s Jesus in Beijing: How Christianity is Transforming China and Changing the Global Balance of Power
- Christianity Today‘s June issue, which featured a lead article on the church in China
I came across this extremely helpful and insightful article on Christian History‘s web-site that documents the history of the house church in China. It is a fascinating story to follow.
