Sunday’s Coming…?

Last week, Shelley Elmblad shared the following video with me. It’s a satirical video by Andy Stanley’s, North Point Church Media Team, about the methods we used for Sunday morning worship at churches. They created this video for their recent Drive Conference.

The video is both hilarious and convicting as it shines a spotlight on the methods churches use today to plan and orient weekend worship. What I found most interesting about the this is that it mocks the very methods that North Point uses at their church. Whether you are a fan of Andy Stanley and North Point or not, it is great to see a well-known church take a self-deprecating shot at what they are doing.

What do you think about the ‘contemporvant’ ‘growtivation’ that you find in this video?

Andy Stanley’s, North Point Church Media Team, created a very interesting video for their Drive Conference this past week. This satire video is in fact hitting the nail on top of the head on the methods used by North Point and many other churches.

It is interesting that North Point would create a satire video that is mocking the very methods they themselves use at their church. Therefore, you may or may not be a fan of Andy Stanley or his methods, but you can definitely join them in laughing at how silly their methods are in this video.

What you win them with is what you win them to, therefore, though this video is a satire it is extremely sad that churches win them by a huge focus on production rather than a huge focus on the Gospel.

  1. The video is hysterical and saddening at the same time – see A.W. Tozer’s “Worship and Entertainment” for a 50 year old prediction of the state of worship in the American Church. He hit the nail on the head…
