Over the past couple of years, Christianity Today has been publishing a series of essays called The Christian Vision Project. This year’s series of essays are aimed at getting at the question: “What must we learn, and unlearn, to be agents of God’s mission in the world?”
Given the recent focus of Harvest Festival at Elmbrook on justice, mercy, and humility from Micah 6:8, I thought the following article would be worthwhile. It is an interview with Jayakumar Christian, the head of World Vision’s work in India and a profound Christian thinker about issues of wealth, poverty, and work amongst the poor. The title is “Powering Down” and focuses on how development work impacts, mobilizes, and empowers the poor.
