Sunday Prayer 32

Jesus,
Suffering Messiah promised long ago in Isaiah’s songs,
Victorious Seed foretold in Abraham’s promise,
Redeeming Lover echoed in Boaz’s embrace of Ruth,
Servant Savior streaming in Jeremiah’s tears,
Heart-wracked husband of Hosea’s pursuit of Gomer,
Desperate Singer of Zephaniah’s poetry,
Hopeful hart of Habakkuk’s ringing words –

Light of the World,
Bread of Life,
Life-giving Vine,
Shepherd of Our Souls,
Hope for the hopeless,
Prince of Peace.

We celebrate Your life in our midst,
Emmanuel.
