LORD, bring me into the spacious life of Your presence: a prayer

“He said to them, ‘Therefore every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.'” (Matthew 13:52)

“Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:2b-3)

LORD, bring me into the spacious life
of Your presence,
where, like the central room of a treasury,
all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are found.

There, lead me to slow down, grow still,
and behold—simply ponder—
the wondrous treasures found in You,
and the greatest treasure that is You.

Though I cannot take You in my hands,
let me sense Your marvelous being.
Though I cannot see You with my eyes,
let me contemplate Your glorious beauty
Though my mind cannot understand You,
may I know You ever more fully.
Though my heart cannot contain You,
may I love the wonders of Your heart.

Enlarge my soul as I live in You.
Grow me deeper as I explore Your life.
Stretch me wider as I wander in Your ways.
Raise me higher as I gaze upon Your life.

Lord, bring me into the spacious life
of Your presence.
