Made to Grow

I kicked-off our series, “Let’s Grow,” this past weekend at Eastbrook with a message entitled “Made to Grow” from Psalm 1.

The message was built around the idea that we were made to grow, and that growing with God requires taking steps forward with God.

A Life of Growth (v 1)

• ‘Blessed’
• A life that brings the blessing of God
• What does it mean to be ‘blessed’?

The Environment of Growth (v 1)

• Life relationships
• Life choices and activities

The Essential Food of Growth (v 2)

• Scripture: ‘the law of the Lord’
• The way of ‘delight’
• The way of ‘meditation’

The Results of Growth (v 3)

• Fruitful
• Enduring
• Prospering

The Results of Atrophy (vv 4-5)

• ‘Like chaff’ – no substance; no use
• Unable to stand
