  1. Looking at the word outside the confines of “financial/money”, Jesus’ promise in John 10:10 comes to mind—life to the fullest. A rich life is one in which we can experience all the things/people/experiences God has created for us.

  2. IMO being rich is simply having enough. In the US it often has more to do with attitude than income. Being content is the only kind of rich of real value.

OK – now I have to log off to go catch my cruise. (I might be more than just “attitude rich.” 😉 )

  3. A feeling of being content with what God has given you while cherishing and enjoying all of it. Not wanting that “one more dollar.” Different for different people in want they feel rich in: money, family, career success, intelligence, close friends, experiences in life, spiritual gifts, God’s grace and love, or a combination of a number of these.

  4. I think the richness of our life is in direct relation to our submitting to Him and His ways and acknowledging that He is doing a work in us and those around us. When we trust Him to work, act on the Holy Spirits promptings and love others as He has loved us we are filled to overflowing with riches.

When we evaluate, judge and try to fix situations, ourselves and others in our own strength and mind we end up tired, frustrated, confused, shameful and empty. Without loving others first as He has loved us…no true riches

I continually experience both in my life and as I walk my journey with my faithful God He patiently guides me back to the place where I can be overflowing with His riches…and for that I am undeservedly grateful.

  5. Hi Matt!

Great question. My brain is too small to handle it so I turned to the Bible. I love this quote from Colossians 2:2: “My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ.” Romans 11:33 speaks of the “riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God.” In other words, all true riches flow out of knowing God deeeeeeeeeeeeply. Looking forward to the series!
