“The Discipleship Journey: Four Examples of Growing with Jesus” – a new series at Eastbrook Church

This coming Sunday at Eastbrook Church we begin a new four-week preaching series entitled “The Discipleship Journey: Four Examples of Growing with Jesus.” This series explores four stories from the book of Acts about discipleship. Each person we will study exemplifies different stages of our journey of faith. We will explore what we can learn from each character about our own journey as disciples of Jesus, but also how we might invite others into the joyful life of discipleship. This series on discipleship builds upon our yearlong emphasis on discipleship.

September 10 – “Prison Walls Falling” – text: Acts 16:16-40 [ministry kick-off weekend]

September 17 – “Seeking Understanding” – text: Acts 8:26-40 [annual meeting]

September 24 – “Beginnings of Transformation” – text: Acts 2:1-47, with emphasis on 2:36-47

October 1 – “Growing and Growing” – text: Acts 4:32-37; 17:10-15; and the life of Barnabas (4:36-37; 9:26-28; 11:22-23; 13:1-3) [communion Sunday]
