Faithful in Philadelphia

Revealed-thumbnail-04-03I continued our series, “Revealed,” this weekend at Eastbrook Church by looking at the letter to the church in Philadelphia (Revelation 3:7-13). I built this message, “Faithful in Philadelphia,” around the metaphor of open doors that God put before the church in Philadelphia that also apply to us today.

You can listen to my message at the Eastbrook web-site here. You can also follow the RSS feed for Eastbrook sermons or follow Eastbrook Church on Twitter or Facebook.

The message outline is included below.

Open Doors in Jesus Christ (Revelation 3:7)

  • “who holds the key of David”
  • “what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open”
  • “I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut”

Open Doors with Others (Revelation 3:8-9)

  • “I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut”
  • “I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you”

Open Doors in Trials (Revelation 3:10)

  • “you have kept my command to endure patiently”

Open Doors to the Eternal Kingdom (Revelation 3:11-13)

  • “The one who is victorious”
    • “I will make a pillar in the temple of my God”
    • “Never again will they leave it”
    • “I will write on them the name”
