Sunday Prayer 24

Our Father,
we rise this day under the shadow of the Cross,
remembering the cost of our salvation.

We remember the gift of Jesus’ incarnation,
in which we encounter Your full revelation.

We remember the gift of Jesus’ proclamation,
in which we hear the sweet words of the Gospel
and see the signs and wonders which attest to those words’ power.

We remember the gift of Jesus’ passion,
where the thunderous acclamation of the coming King
was replaced by the raucous accusations of the crowd;
where He suffered innocently for the wrongs of humanity;
where His wounds brought healing and life at great cost.

We remember the gift of Jesus’ resurrection,
by which sin, evil and death were trounced in victory
and abundant life was opened to all who will come by faith.

We choose to remember so that our lives
might be lived back to You as a thank offering
because of Jesus – Messiah, King, and Savior,
Amen.
