This coming Sunday at Eastbrook Church we begin a new preaching series entitled “Essential Church.” This series is the first of a three-part exploration of the Book of Acts this Fall at Eastbrook, including two other series “Ordinary People in God’s Extraordinary Work” and “Jesus, King of the Nations.”
In “Essential Church” we will walk through Acts, chapter 1-6, looking at the early life of the church in Jerusalem. We plan to focus on some of the essential marks of the people of God, Christ’s Church.
Here is the week-by-week schedule for the sermon series:
September 7 – “Born by the Holy Spirit” – Acts 1:1-2:41 [Ministry Kick-Off weekend; Baptism]
September 14 – “Living Family” – Acts 2:42-47 [Annual meeting]
September 21 – “A Message on the Move” – Acts 3:1-4:31 [Hispanic Global Gateway]
September 28 – “Radically Generous” – Acts 4:32-5:16
October 5 – “Raised and Released” – Acts 6 [Communion, East Asian Global Gateway]
