Devoted to Prayer

This weekend at Eastbrook Church I continued our “Living Church” series with a message entitled “Devoted to Prayer.” If we are going to be a church that is alive – a church living out our calling as the people of God – then we must devote ourselves to prayer.

Prayer Brings God’s People Together (4:23-24)

  • Personal prayer
  • Corporate prayer

Prayer Starts with Who God Is (4:24, 28)

  • His name
  • His power
  • His rule

Prayer Stands in God’s Word (4:25-26)

  • Speaking God’s words back to Him
  • Clinging to God’s promises

Prayer Aims at God’s Mission (4:29-30)

  • God’s mission in word
  • God’s mission in action

Prayer Anticipates God’s Response (4:31)

  • God’s work in us
  • God’s work through us
