Multiplying

This past weekend at Eastbrook Church, we continued our series “Living Church” by looking at the way in which the the early church grew from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. In a sense, my message, entitled “Multiplying,” was an exploration of the expanding discipleship mission of the church.

You can listen to my message online at the Eastbrook web-site here. You can also subscribe to the Eastbrook podcast here or follow Eastbrook Church on Twitter.

The message outline is included below.

A Compelling Picture of the Early Church

  • Jesus’ mission for the church (Acts 1:7-8)
  • Focused intention by the church (Acts 2:38-41)
  • God’s work through the church (Acts 2:42-47)
  • The growing movement of God (Acts 2:47)

A Compelling Calling to the Church Today

  • Jesus’ mission for the church
  • Focused intention by the church
  • God’s work through the church
  • The growing movement of God

What this looks like:

  • Being disciples of Jesus ourselves
  • Intending to make disciples
  • Displaying the glory of life with God in our daily lives
  • Making disciples who intend to make disciples
